Just hours after Health Minister Dr. Ibrahima Sy declared the products "safe for consumption" and allayed doubts about their potential dangers, Softcare SN Company Limited responded with an official statement titled "Information Notice from Softcare to the Senegalese Public." The company's management, based in Sindia, stated that it had "taken note of these results" and "fully respects their conclusions."
Zero expired materials in production
Based on the findings of the joint investigation (Health, Trade and National Assembly), Softcare emphasized the central point of the case: "The results of the investigation show that the hygiene products manufactured by the company did not use expired raw materials."
The company goes further, stating that its products currently on the market "present no health risks and comply with European safety standards." This compliance, according to management, also extends to the specific safety and hygiene requirements in force in Senegal.
International tests as reinforcement
To dispel any ambiguity regarding the quality of its products, Softcare reveals that it commissioned independent expert assessments even before the official end of the crisis. The press release specifies that the products underwent rigorous testing by internationally recognized third-party laboratories, including SGS and GALAB.
The results of these analyses confirm that, both in terms of "microbiological parameters" and "contaminant control," the brand complies with "European Union product safety standards." Softcare also points out that using its diapers and sanitary napkins contributes to "protecting public health."
Towards a "responsible industry"
After several months of media turmoil, the Sindia-based manufacturer seems to want to turn the page by advocating close collaboration with the authorities. Softcare reiterates its commitment to "supporting the development of local manufacturing" while promoting sector-specific regulation based on "law, standardization, and sustainability."
The management's final message is intended to be unifying: it says it is ready to work with all stakeholders in the sector who attach "paramount importance to quality" in order to "together protect the health and confidence of Senegalese consumers" and "fully assume its social responsibilities".
