Colobane, Rebeuss, Point-E : comment le menuisier de Keur Massar se « servait » dans les rayons des pharmacies
The Colobane gendarmerie's Research Section (SR) has put an end to the activities of A. Diallo, a 21-year-old carpenter residing in Keur Massar, who specialized in stealing pharmaceutical products. The suspect was brought before the prosecutor's office this Thursday.
A well-established modus operandi
According to Libération, which reported the story, the young man entered pharmacies pretending to buy medication. To create a diversion, the newspaper noted, he would ask staff about product availability or electronic payment options. Taking advantage of the employees' inattention, he would discreetly grab the merchandise, concealing it in his trousers.
Betrayed by surveillance cameras
It was his latest crime at the Colobane pharmacy that led to his downfall. By reviewing the security camera footage after his visit, the pharmacy staff were able to clearly identify his actions. The gendarmerie's analysis of this footage allowed for his swift arrest. The investigation revealed that this wasn't his first offense: he had already used the same method at the El Hadji Oumar Foutiyou Tall pharmacy (Rebeuss) and at a pharmacy in Point-E, the same source added.
