Plainte de « Touba ca kanam » : un TikTokeur arrêté
Nineteen-year-old TikToker Thierno Diallo, better known by his pseudonyms "Thier Toucouleur" or "Thier Faramarén," was arrested by the Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC) and brought before the Dakar prosecutor's office on Thursday. According to information obtained by Libération, he is being prosecuted for public insults, defamation, and publishing personal data.
A fundraising campaign criticized on TikTok
The events date back to December 29th in the Apix neighborhood, according to the same source. While the "Touba ca kanam" association was holding a fundraising campaign there, the accused allegedly secretly filmed the caravan before posting a video on TikTok. In this video, he violently attacked members of the organization, calling them "scammers."
Having gone viral, the video also contained comments deemed offensive, as well as a nod to another TikToker known for his repeated attacks against religious communities.
Thierno Diallo's arrest follows a complaint filed by Mandiaye Ngom, the association's coordinator in Dakar. Questioned by DSC investigators, the young man attempted to downplay the seriousness of his actions, claiming he had been "carried away by the fun." While he stated he deleted the video 24 hours after posting it, it had already been widely shared on social media.
