Conduite sans permis et blessures involontaires : un mécanicien risque un mois de prison
Mechanic Birane appeared before the Thiès court of flagrant offenses for driving without a license and involuntary injury, following an accident in Mboro involving his vehicle and a Jakarta motorcycle.
According to the evidence in the case file, the collision occurred at an intersection between the defendant's vehicle and a Jakarta motorcycle driver.
In court, Mr. Fall, a witness to the events, gave his account. He stated that the defendant had properly signaled his intention to turn. "He had put on his turn signal before proceeding," he explained, specifying that it was actually the motorcyclist who was speeding before colliding with the vehicle.
Despite this testimony, the defendant is being prosecuted for driving without a license for several years, as well as for the consequences of the accident which resulted in injuries.
The deputy public prosecutor, considering that the facts are consistent, requested a sentence of one month's imprisonment against the defendant.
The court will render its decision in the coming days.
