Things are accelerating and becoming clearer in the railway city, where all stakeholders involved in the perfect organization of the April 4, 2026 parade, united and in solidarity, are working hard to meet the challenge and make the celebration a success.

During the meeting of the Regional Development Committee (CRD) in preparation for the parade of April 4, 2026, held this Friday, February 20, Colonel El Hadj Oumar Faye, Commander of Military Zone No. 7, presented the main elements (calendar and preparations) relating to the organization of the event planned on Caen Avenue.

The senior officer detailed the timeline and preparation stages. The schedule calls for the start of civilian parade rehearsals on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. During February and March, regular progress reviews will be conducted to assess the level of readiness. Site reconnaissance of the parade route, particularly on Avenue Caen, as well as coordination and leadership exercises, are also planned.

The dress rehearsal is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the chosen site. The torchlight procession is planned for Friday, April 3, the day before the festival. The mayors of the municipalities involved have been asked, in collaboration with the prefect, to carry out the necessary eviction operations and to beautify the area along Avenue Caen.

Significant attention will be given to civilians, particularly schools, vocational training institutions, majorettes, Koranic schools (Daaras), and veterans. This will also be an opportunity for local authorities to voice concerns regarding the rehabilitation of certain infrastructure and the repair of secondary roads.
