Dakar : 212 interpellations lors d'une vaste opération policière nocturne

The national police struck hard on the night of Saturday, October 18 to Sunday, October 19, 2025. A large-scale security operation, mobilizing the entire force of the Dakar central police station, resulted in the arrest of 212 people and the seizure of numerous pieces of evidence. Under the command of Divisional Commissioner Mamadou Tendeng, head of the Regional Public Security Service, this operation mobilized significant personnel with a pooling of police forces. The operation was deployed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Thus, 212 people were arrested for various reasons, including 137 for identity checks, 42 for public drunkenness. The fight against drug trafficking has yielded significant results, with one individual arrested for possession for the purpose of using Indian hemp (two cones), four people for possession and use in association of Indian hemp (four joints and two cones), a suspect for offering and selling kush (10 tablets), a trafficker arrested for possession and trafficking of crack and ecstasy (four crack stones and one ecstasy tablet), seven individuals for possession and trafficking of Indian hemp (14 cones), and one individual for possession and use of a cellulosic product.

In addition, a suspect was arrested in the act of theft committed on board a means of transport, two individuals for criminal conspiracy and group theft committed at night on a vehicle, two people for attempted theft, one individual for robbery with violence, two suspects for destruction of property belonging to others and possession of a bladed weapon.

In addition, several cases of violence have given rise to arrests, including one individual for violence against a relative, one suspect for death threats, one individual for death threats, violence and assault, two people for violence and assault, one suspect for assault and battery and four people for the need for an investigation, as part of ongoing investigations.

In addition to the arrests, the operation resulted in numerous traffic violations being punished: 346 items seized for various offenses, five vehicles impounded and five motorcycles immobilized.
