After several days of interruption of their activities, cleaning service providers having contracted with SONAGED SA announce the resumption of their services throughout the national territory, following the commitments made by the authorities responsible for the sector, announced the CCNS in a press release on September 12.

This suspension decision, described as "involuntary," follows several delays in the payment of invoices by SONAGED SA. This situation has become untenable for the companies concerned, jeopardizing the continuity of the public cleaning service.

Consultations were initiated between representatives of service providers, the Directorate General of the Budget (DGB) and the relevant authorities. These discussions resulted in two major commitments.

Immediate payment of at least 25% of the debt due on July 31, 2025, and the inclusion of a plan to fully settle the remaining balance within the framework of the 2026 national budget, currently being drawn up.

The service providers say they appreciate the political will shown by the authorities to resolve this crisis, while reiterating their commitment to the imperatives of public service and urban sanitation.

"Aware of the challenges related to the cleaning service and trusting the authorities regarding the proper execution of the proposed plan, we have decided to resume our services as of today," the press release states.

This resumption marks a return to normal for cleaning operations, to the great relief of the affected populations, particularly in large urban areas.
