Décès du sous-lieutenant Ndour à Sédhiou : Thiès attend dans la tristesse la dépouille de son fils
Sadness and dismay gripped the Takhikao neighborhood in the Thiès-Nord commune, with the recall to God of Second Lieutenant Mamadou Dieng Ndour, serving at the Sédhiou Regional Water and Forestry Inspectorate. His lifeless body was discovered in his room yesterday, Sunday afternoon, October 19, 2025. The death reportedly occurred following a malaise.
Friends and close relatives, in shock, await in dismay the remains of this Thiessois, renowned for his commitment to protecting the country's forest and water resources. At the family home, not far from the Ngélaw market in Takhikao, the testimonies are unanimous about the deceased's good qualities.
"A child we saw being born and growing up. He was a great personality, despite his young age. He was very supportive of his family. He respected his parents, his relatives, and his friends. He was a model boy, very responsible, exemplary, very decent and disciplined," say people in the neighborhood.
A religious family that claims to accept God's will. The young officer's father, Jules Ndour, a prominent figure in Takhikao, says he has lost a confidant and a friend. A delegation from the Ndour family left Thiès this Monday morning to repatriate the body of the young 31-year-old second lieutenant, who passed away in the prime of life, leaving behind a widow, a daughter, and a grieving family.
