Décès d’un étudiant à l’Ucad : Thierno Bocoum fustige le « cynisme » du pouvoir
The president of the Agir – Les Leaders movement, Thierno Bocoum, strongly denounced what he calls the "cynicism" of the government, following the death of a student at Cheikh Anta Diop University (Ucad) in Dakar.
In a post on his social media, the opposition leader accuses the authorities of having "starved the students, of having abused them, before creating the conditions for a human tragedy," believing that the current situation in universities is the direct consequence of deliberate political choices.
According to him, these events reflect "the true face of a disastrous project that the Pastef regime is imposing on the future of our children," pointing to a moral and political responsibility of the government in the tensions observed on campuses.
The leader of Agir also offered his "deepest condolences" to the family of Abdoulaye Ba, the deceased student, implicitly calling on the authorities to recognize the social emergency facing students.
