The Parcelles-Assainies district police station has arrested a young shopkeeper in a case of blackmail and the dissemination of sexual content. This case reveals the dangerous excesses of using social media for personal revenge.
A clandestine recording during a video call
AK Ba, alias "Khadija Faramaren", aged 23, was arrested and taken into police custody for collecting and disseminating obscene data.
The case dates back to a WhatsApp video call between the trader living in Cité Soprim and Modou Amar, alias "Délégué Amar," who lives in Cité Mixta. During this conversation, the latter exposed his genitals, a moment that Khadija Faramaren recorded without his knowledge, according to Seneweb sources.
The situation escalated following a business transaction. The accused had sold a perfume to Modou Amar, but the latter had not paid the full amount, leaving an outstanding balance of 5,000 CFA francs.
Faced with this refusal to pay, Khadija Faramaren decided to take revenge by using the compromising video she had in her possession.
An American influencer involved
To maximize the impact of her revenge, the shopkeeper forwarded the obscene video to Cheikh Ahmed Cissé, a US-based influencer. Cissé then shared Modou Amar's sex tape on social media, exposing the victim to public humiliation.
Faced with this serious attack on his dignity and reputation, the complainant, known as "Delegate", filed a complaint with the Parcelles-Assainies district police station, headed by Commissioner Abdou Sarr, for the collection and dissemination of obscene data, according to Seneweb sources.
The arrest and confession
Arrested on September 2, Khadija Faramaren was questioned on the basis of a report and admitted the facts without ambiguity.
During her hearing, she explained that she had recorded the video a long time ago without Modou Amar's knowledge. She also admitted to deliberately forwarding it to influencer Cheikh Ahmed Cissé for distribution on social media, motivated by her anger at the non-payment of the remaining 5,000 CFA francs.
Following the police investigation conducted by the Parcelles-Assainies services, the accused was referred to the public prosecutor for trial.
