Démolition à Boucotte-Sindian : Le non-respect d'un accord financier par le maire Djibril Sonko réveille le dossier
The case concerning the demolition of the building located in Boucotte-Sindian, in the municipality of Ziguinchor, has taken a new turn. Ten municipal employees implicated in the affair were summoned yesterday before the prosecutor's office. According to information gathered, this summons stems from the failure of the city's mayor, Djibril Sonko, to fulfill some of the commitments he made.
To understand this situation, we must go back to August 14, 2025. At that time, after an initial arrest following a complaint from the owner of the demolished building, the officers were released thanks to mediation. Mayor Djibril Sonko, through his deputies and his lawyer, pledged to the plaintiff to pay financial compensation of six million CFA francs, in addition to providing a plot of land.
However, as the financial aspect of this agreement was not honored within the allotted time, the prosecutor's office decided to reopen the case, leading to the immediate summons of the ten agents at the heart of the proceedings.
According to our sources, the case now appears to be nearing its conclusion. The mayor reiterated his commitment to paying the outstanding amount as soon as possible. Following their meeting with the prosecutor, the ten officers were released. They can now hope to be free of further legal repercussions, pending the final implementation of the agreement by the municipal authority.
