Deux arrestations : La BRS de Dakar déjoue une expédition de drogue vers les États-Unis
It all started with a tip-off. A private investigator based in Dakar received a package containing 97 ecstasy pills destined for the United States, according to Seneweb sources. Alerted, members of the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS) of the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) set up a controlled delivery operation with a product substitution.
2:30 a.m.: Two suspects caught in the act
In the night of March 17, 2026, around 2:30 a.m., at the time of the package being taken from the Patte d'Oie housing estate, two individuals were caught in the act: HGF, 26 years old, claiming to be a delivery man, and MLN, 24 years old, claiming to be a caretaker, both residing in the Patte d'Oie housing estate.
When questioned at the scene, the two suspects were found to be in possession of two mobile phones, a Tecno and an iPhone 12.
When questioned briefly, they initially denied owning the drugs, before stating that a certain "Dji" had given them the 97 ecstasy pills, with the mission of delivering them to a man named Alassane Ly living in the United States.
The search of their room located in the warehouse of the company Boroom Daara Dji, in the HLM Patte d'Oie, led to the discovery and seizure of a roll of aluminum foil, presumably used to package the drugs before shipping.
The two suspects are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, possession and international drug trafficking, and money laundering.
The alleged mastermind of the operation, the mysterious "Dji," is still at large. An investigation is underway to apprehend him.
