Diamaguène Sicap Mbao : De la viande impropre à la consommation saisie sur un présumé vendeur clandestin
Officers from the Diamaguène Sicap-Mbao police station arrested an individual suspected of trying to sell meat that was unfit for human consumption at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
During a security patrol, police noticed a man on a Jakarta-type motorcycle hastily unloading two heavy bags in an alleyway. Intrigued by his behavior, they conducted a routine check. Inside the bags, they discovered two dead goats, which had not been slaughtered according to sanitary standards—the animals having died of suffocation, without having their throats cut.
When questioned, the individual stated that he had purchased the two animals for 60,000 CFA francs from an unknown person, with the intention of reselling their meat. He was immediately taken into custody. An investigation has been opened to trace the chain and establish all responsibilities.
The national police are warning of the dangers associated with the consumption of uncontrolled meat and are urging people to be vigilant.
