The Diamaguène-Sicap Mbao district police station has struck a major blow in the fight against drug trafficking. On Monday, August 12, at around 10:30 p.m., police officers under the direction of Commissioner Cheikh Tidiane Diallo arrested a Sierra Leonean national suspected of fueling a vast Kush trafficking network in the Diacksao sector.
The suspect, identified as F. Krumah, aged 21, claimed to be a fisherman and was residing in Diacksao. This Sierra Leonean had been in the sights of law enforcement for several days following intelligence reports of his illicit activities.
A network targeting the Sierra Leonean community
The research brigade had exploited information revealing that a foreigner was maintaining "a vast drug trafficking network in the Diacksao sector" and that he was "supplying his compatriots with hard drugs." This information had triggered the establishment of a reinforced surveillance system in the area.
The investigation revealed the existence of a distribution network specifically geared towards the Sierra Leonean community, suggesting a structured organization exploiting community ties to sell the drugs.
Arrest in flagrante delicto of packaging
The operation was initiated following a real-time tip. The informant reported that the suspect was currently at home packaging the prohibited product, allowing the police to act immediately.
Without wasting any time, the elements entered the suspect's home. Taken by surprise, the accused got up abruptly to try to lock himself in his room, but the speed of the police intervention made this escape attempt futile.
Sophisticated cache discovered
A search of the room immediately revealed forty empty bags that were clearly used to package the drugs. This discovery confirmed the information that the suspect was preparing his merchandise for sale.
The thorough search of the premises resulted in a major discovery: forty-four pieces of Kush hidden in a hole in the wall near the kitchen, as well as a sum of 2,500 CFA francs, probably representing the proceeds of previous sales, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecution.
An identified supply chain
During his interrogation, the suspect revealed crucial information about his modus operandi. He stated that he had acquired the product at the port of Dakar and specified that "the drugs were intended for sale."
Following the police investigation, the accused was brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court yesterday, Thursday, where he will face charges of drug trafficking.
