Diamaguène : Un trafiquant de chanvre indien tombe dans le piège tendu par la police
A drug dealer was arrested on Friday, January 16, 2026, around 3 p.m. by officers from the Diamaguène Sicap-Mbao district police station's investigation unit. The arrest of B. Ndiaye, born in 1993 and claiming to be a merchant, followed information gathered by law enforcement regarding drug trafficking in the area.
To catch the suspect, investigators placed a phone order with the trafficker for 1,500 CFA francs. Unsuspecting, he showed up at the meeting place with two packets of Indian hemp, corresponding to the order price.
It was at this precise moment that the officers came out of their hiding place and proceeded to arrest him in the act of offering and selling Indian hemp.
The investigation didn't stop there. Continuing their inquiries, the police asked the suspect to lead them to his storage location. B. Ndiaye led them to his drug stash where seven more packets of the same prohibited substance were discovered.
In total, nine packets of Indian hemp were seized and placed under seal for the purposes of the investigation.
When questioned at the police station, B. Ndiaye readily admitted to the charges against him, including offering and selling Indian hemp in the neighborhood.
The prosecutor was informed of this arrest and an investigation was opened.
