Distribution de billets de 5000 FCFA dans des écoles : Les minutes de l'audition du koweïtien incriminé à la SU de Guédiawaye
A video showing a man distributing 5,000 FCFA notes sparked controversy on social media. Faced with this outcry, the Kuwaiti benefactor presented himself on Tuesday at the Ministry of National Education, where he was reportedly received by the Secretary General.
Summoned by telephone, this company director turned himself in at the Guédiawaye Central Police Station's Urban Security Unit. He told investigators that he had distributed legal alms.
"This is the first time I have come to Senegal. I have traveled to other countries to give zakat. But Senegalese people residing in Kuwait suggested that I come to Senegal," he explained, according to Seneweb sources.
The businessman revealed that he had visited 100 daaras (Koranic schools) in Senegal before going to the Lycée de Canada in Pikine, where a student filmed the scene. The Kuwaiti man reportedly obtained permission from the school administrators.
But he has suspended his banknote distribution session until further notice, according to Seneweb sources.
Released after his hearing which lasted several hours, he will have to report to the Guédiawaye SU this Wednesday.
