Dossiers judiciaires : Le "coup de gueule" de Alioune Tine
Alioune Tine believes that in Senegal, it is now necessary to create the conditions for an independent justice system that respects the state's international obligations regarding human rights. This argument appears to stem from observations about the handling of several legal cases.
For example, the leader of Afrikajom center points out that Pape Malick Ndour, who is the subject of "several accusations without any valid reasons for his imprisonment being found, finds himself with an electronic bracelet and the impossibility of speaking out."
"It is respect for the presumption of innocence that enshrines the principle of freedom over detention. It is respect for the fundamental rights of the accused, it is respect for judicial procedures that can and must guarantee the effectiveness, credibility and legitimacy of a criminal policy of accountability and reporting," he said.
In his post on X, he also mentioned several other cases: "The case of Badara Gadiaga, whose skills as a columnist and polemicist seem to be a problem, is being silenced, even though his file is empty. What about the borderline cases of Farba Ngom and Mabinetou Diaby, whose state of health is incompatible with detention? While we are waiting for the justice system to also take an interest in the Aser case, which is currently causing controversy," notes the former head of the African Meeting for Human Rights (RADDHO).
