Douanier tué à Thiès : Émotion à la levée du corps, en présence du DG Babacar Mbaye

The Senegalese Customs Administration is mourning the loss of one of its own. Senior customs officer Adama Ndiaye died on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, after being struck by a truck while on duty. The funeral service was held this Thursday at the Thiès Regional Hospital in a deeply moving atmosphere.

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Adama Ndiaye, a senior customs officer, tragically lost his life in the line of duty. According to Seneweb sources, he was fatally struck by a truck in a deliberate act.

A solemn ceremony

On Thursday, November 27, 2025, the Amadou Sakhir Ndiéguène Regional Hospital in Thiès hosted the funeral service, which was attended by the highest customs authorities. The Director General of Customs, Babacar Mbaye, traveled to Thiès to preside over the ceremony. He was accompanied by a large delegation including technical directors, members of his staff, and department heads. Also present were numerous customs officers, representatives of the defense and security forces, and members of the deceased's family.

In his eulogy, Customs Lieutenant Abdoul Aziz Ndiaye, head of Brigade No. 1 of the GPRRF and the deceased's direct superior, recalled the distinguished career of Chief Warrant Officer Adama Ndiaye. "He was a valiant fighter who has left us, leaving a huge void behind," Lieutenant Ndiaye said emotionally. He added, "His grave is not his final resting place, but rather the hearts of all his colleagues, relatives, friends, and users of the service."

To the audience and in particular to his colleagues, Lieutenant Abdoul Aziz Ndiaye invited them to draw inspiration "from his sense of duty, his perseverance and his selflessness".

At the end of the eulogy, the Director General of Customs spoke with the family members present at the ceremony. He offered them the condolences of the supervisory authority, the Administration, and the entire customs community. This exchange was marked by emotion and compassion.

An exemplary career

Principal Customs Officer Adama Ndiaye joined the customs service after passing the competitive entrance exam for the 33rd class of customs officers. He had previously served in the armed forces for six years.

Motivated and full of ambition, he had applied and again succeeded in the professional competition for certified customs agents, as part of the 37th class of the Customs School.

He served in various customs units before falling in the line of duty defending the country's economic and security. His burial is scheduled for Thursday, November 27th in Diagana.

Senegalese customs has thus lost a devoted agent, who fell as a hero in the performance of his mission to protect the nation's economic interests.
