Drame à Fatick : un différend autour d’un chargeur vire au coup de couteau
In Fatick, a 17-year-old teenager, F. Sow, was arrested by police for assault and battery with a knife. According to the complaint filed by Mr. Diop, the young man allegedly stabbed his 20-year-old nephew, A. Diop, in the stomach.
The attack allegedly occurred following a trivial argument over a cell phone charger. According to initial investigations, reported by Libération in its Tuesday, October 7 edition, an altercation broke out between the two young men on Monday, September 29. Later that evening, when the tension seemed to have subsided, Sow waited until the victim fell asleep before stabbing him in the stomach.
Severely injured, A. Diop was rushed to Fatick Hospital, where he underwent surgery before being admitted to intensive care. His condition is considered stable, but doctors have prescribed him a 120-day temporary incapacity for work (ITT).
After his act, the young attacker fled to Touba, where he found refuge with an uncle named G. Fall. Aware of the seriousness of the facts, the latter finally convinced him to surrender to the authorities.
The Fatick police station has opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy and shed full light on this family affair which is shaking the Darou Rahmane district.
