Trafic de drogue : un coup dur pour le réseau des Maristes
The Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade dismantled a drug trafficking network in Les Maristes, leading to the arrest of four Nigerians, including a woman, on the night of September 30. They are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and money laundering.
According to Libération's account, the operation was launched following a tip-off about a network of foreign traffickers operating near the Auchan des Maristes store. A two-week surveillance and monitoring operation was implemented, allowing for the observation of suspicious movements, parcels being handed over to a delivery driver, and frequent trips between two apartments.
Ch. Joseph and N. Francis were initially arrested. OH Ijomah was then arrested at his home, in possession of 250,000 CFA francs. Joseph's wife, O. Jastina, was arrested during a search of a second apartment.
Searches of several apartments resulted in the seizure of five pieces of ecstasy, various whitish powders and balls, drug paraphernalia (crack smoking parlors, grinders), and batches of cell phones and computers. More ambiguous products, such as suspicious candy (500g) and 99 tablets, were also discovered. The seized products were sent for analysis to determine their exact composition. All the suspects were taken into custody for criminal conspiracy, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and money laundering, the same source reported.
