On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at around 8:10 p.m., members of the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), under the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), arrested two individuals at the clandestine El Hadji Pathé garage in Keur Massar, in possession of one kilogram and one cone of Indian hemp.

The accused are Mr. Ngom, a 37-year-old street vendor residing in Petit Mbao, and MC Niane, a 38-year-old street vendor residing in Keur Massar.

This operation was the result of a successful operation carried out by an investigator's source with Mr. Ngom, known by the nickname "Ndama," a drug supplier. He had arranged the meeting at the clandestine garage of El Hadji Pathé. A surveillance and tracking operation was immediately set up by the police. Upon arriving at the location, Mr. Ngom was accompanied by his accomplice, MC Niane. The two men were quickly apprehended, and their cell phones were confiscated.

When questioned about the kilogram of cannabis that was the subject of the order, MC Niane finally agreed to lead investigators to his home in the SOTRAC housing complex in Keur Massar. The cannabis was found there, hidden in a bag. A search of Mr. Ngom's residence, meanwhile, uncovered a small bag of cannabis, which he stated was for his personal use.

During his hearing, Mr. Ngom admitted to accepting the order before entrusting its execution to his friend MC Niane, who was responsible for supplying the product, according to Seneweb sources.

In total, the police seized one kilogram and one cone of Indian hemp, three Android mobile phones, the sum of 28,000 CFA francs, a defective laptop and a knife.

The two suspects were taken into custody after being informed of their right to legal counsel of their choice. The drugs and seized items were placed under seal. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko was informed of the facts.
