Drogue et gris-gris saisis : huit membres d’une bande arrêtés par la gendarmerie de Ross Béthio
The Ross Béthio local brigade put an end to the activities of a gang of criminals who were operating in the village of Golan Mbayene, located in the commune of Ngnith.
The operation followed the exploitation of intelligence indicating the presence of a suspicious group in the area. The gendarmerie then opened an investigation and deployed a significant surveillance operation to locate the individuals, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, members of the brigade finally located the group in a field. The area was quickly cordoned off before the police intervention.
Two initial suspects were apprehended on the spot, while six other individuals, who attempted to flee, were caught and arrested in turn.
During the operation, the police seized a bag and 41 cones of Indian hemp, as well as several lighters, kitchen utensils and gris-gris belonging to members of the group.
In total, eight suspects have been taken into custody and will be presented to the competent judicial authorities.
The National Gendarmerie also invites the public to collaborate with the security forces by reporting any suspicious activity via the toll-free numbers 123 or 800 00 20 20.
