Emploi et Formation Professionnelle : Un budget 2026 en hausse de près de 7%
The draft budget for 2026 of the Ministry of Employment, Vocational and Technical Training (MEFPT) was adopted this Friday, November 14, 2025, by the National Assembly, in the presence of Minister Amadou Moustapha Ndieck Sarré.
The budget allocation, which has increased by 6.40% compared to the previous year, aims to strengthen economic inclusion policies, accelerate workforce skills development and create sustainable jobs, particularly for young people and women.
The overall budget for the 2026 financial year is increasing, which reflects the government's desire to strengthen the sector.
The increase of 7.78 billion CFA francs (+6.40%) compared to 2025 supports a balanced budget structure.
Investment expenditures represent 32.71% of budgetary resources. These funds are allocated to the modernization of infrastructure, the expansion of technical training opportunities, and the strengthening of financing and professional integration mechanisms.
Minister Amadou Moustapha Ndieck Sarré stressed that the main objective is to build an integrated employment ecosystem.
Efforts for 2026 will focus on four major areas. This budget is aligned with the national strategies (SND 2025–2029 and PRES – Jubbanti Koom). The ministry will continue to consolidate large-scale programs such as PAFIJ, PNFP, and PADCE.
“Employment and training are the essential levers of dignity and prosperity. This budget reflects the government’s determination to make Senegalese youth the engine of development,” stated Minister Amadou Moustapha Ndieck Sarré.
The ministry aims to make 2026 a year of concrete action for decent, inclusive and competitive employment.
