The day after his triumphant welcome in Pikine upon his return from France, where he had sought refuge, Ama Baldé has been apprehended by officers from the Keur Massar Gendarmerie Company's Research Brigade, according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb. The wrestler was arrested under a judicial warrant issued by the investigating judge of the first chamber of the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court.

Once at the premises of the Research Brigade, Ama Baldé will likely be placed in police custody, pending his appearance before the investigating magistrate, scheduled for after Tabaski.

The events date back to May 2025. It all began when a man named "Julo," nephew of wrestler Amadou Baldé, known as "Ama," was implicated in an assault case. According to the victim's complaint, his motorcycle and chain had been stolen.

It was in this context that police officers from the Pikine district police station went to the Baldé family home to serve a summons to a man named Julo. The suspect had been caught smoking marijuana in the living room.

But against all expectations, Ama Baldé and his older brother Pathé Baldé resisted their nephew's arrest. The wrestler even came to blows with a police warrant officer. Taking advantage of the confusion, Julo managed to escape. A search of his room yielded fourteen packets of marijuana and a pair of scissors. Before reinforcements arrived, the two brothers had also left the family home.

The warrant officer, head of the police operation, escaped with a minor hand injury, accompanied by a medical certificate attesting to a temporary incapacity for work of seven days.

Despite a travel ban issued against him, Ama Baldé had managed to leave Senegal and seek refuge in France.

It was yesterday, Tuesday, that the wrestler, accompanied by a renowned lawyer, returned to the country, where he was greeted as a hero by a large crowd. He was arrested Wednesday evening shortly thereafter by the Keur Massar Research Brigade.

For his part, after his escape, Pathé Baldé was apprehended by police in front of the National Arena. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko then requested the opening of a judicial investigation.
