Face aux menaces terroristes sur l’axe Dakar - Bamako, le Mali demande un assouplissement sur les frais de conteneurs
The deteriorating security situation on the Dakar-Bamako corridor is beginning to have economic repercussions. Faced with the resurgence of terrorist attacks on several Malian roads, the Malian Shippers' Council (CMC) has requested exceptional measures to limit the impact on the transport of goods between Senegal and Mali.
According to reports from the Malijet website, several attacks in Mali in recent weeks have severely disrupted road traffic. Trucks carrying goods and passenger buses have reportedly been set on fire in some areas, causing loss of life and disrupting the country's supply chain.
In this context, the president of the CMC, Bakissima Sylla, sent a letter on May 7, 2026, to the president of the Senegalese Container Shipowners' Union (SACS). In this letter, he raised concerns about the impact of growing insecurity on the smooth flow of land-based operations linking the Autonomous Port of Dakar to Mali.
