Débordement du fleuve Falémé : Kolia et Moussala touchés

The Falémé River overflowed its banks this Tuesday, causing floods that severely affected several localities in the commune of Bembou, notably the villages of Kolia and Moussala.

In Kolia, the consequences are particularly visible. According to Kama Dansokho, president of the village youth movement, "around ten homes and businesses were flooded." In response to the emergency, some families were relocated to the village school, which has been converted into a temporary shelter.

In Moussala, the backwater behind the customs office burst its banks, flooding the road leading to Sansamba. This situation isolated the residents on the other bank and made travel to Sansamba impossible, further isolating the village.

These floods occur just a few days before the opening of classes, a circumstance which increases the population's concern about the smooth running of the school year.
