Fatick : Un important trafic de chanvre indien déjoué à Faoye

The elements of the territorial brigade of Fimela thwarted, on Monday, November 17, 2025, around 8:28 p.m., an operation to traffic Indian hemp destined for the village of Faoye, in the commune of Djilasse.

Acting on intelligence about a suspicious convoy, the gendarmes set up a surveillance operation to intercept cart drivers involved in drug trafficking. But upon spotting the presence of law enforcement, the traffickers immediately turned back and fled towards Faoye.

During their hasty retreat, they abandoned a cart and seven packages of Indian hemp, weighing a total of 210 kg, which were seized by the gendarmes.

An investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in this trafficking.
