De la moto-Jakarta à la cellule : Comment la police de Ndamatou a démasqué six faussaires à Touba

The Ndamatou district police station arrested six individuals involved in a network falsifying administrative documents in Touba. What began as a routine nighttime check quickly led to the discovery of a well-structured criminal organization.

In the early hours of February 24, 2026, at around 3 a.m., a police patrol came across Sène, a motorcycle taxi driver, traveling along the Serigne Modou coastal road without lights or a license plate. When asked to produce his driver's license, he claimed they were in the possession of the motorcycle's seller, a man named Diop.

The next day, Sène returned to the police station accompanied by his employer, Guèye, who presented investigators with a certificate of conformity (CMC). The problem: the chassis number on the document did not match that of the impounded motorcycle. Having been turned away the first time, Guèye tried again with a new document provided by Diop, this time bearing the correct chassis number. But the QR code analysis revealed the deception: the document was a fake.

When confronted with his responsibilities, Diop stated that he received the counterfeit document from his supplier Dembélé, based in Kaolack, via a public transport driver whose identity and phone number he refused to disclose. When contacted by phone, Dembélé denied any involvement in the matter.

Upon learning of his brother's arrest, I. Guèye voluntarily went to the police station and confessed. He admitted to having discreetly gone to the scene to photograph the chassis number of the impounded motorcycle and to give it to the mechanic Ngom. Analysis of his WhatsApp messages confirmed his statements point by point. It then emerged that this chassis number had been given by Diop to a man named Thiam, who was tasked with creating a false vehicle registration certificate.

Evidence that was erased, but later recovered

Aware of the risks, Ngom had taken care, before his arrest, to delete all his exchanges with Diop on WhatsApp. But this precaution proved futile. Analysis of Diop's phone allowed investigators to reconstruct all the conversations, thus revealing the precise role of each member of the network in this forgery case.

In total, six people were arrested and taken into custody for conspiracy, forgery and use of forged documents in an administrative document.

Sene, Thiam, Gueye, Diop,... Des "Ndrings" ? Où sont tous les xénophobes ? Nous sommes spécialistes de la fraude autres formes de "tapalés". Admettons-le au lieu de toujours chercher des boucs émissaires.
