The incident occurred during a routine helmet enforcement operation. During this operation, officers stopped a TVS motorcycle. Taking advantage of the stop, the driver suddenly sped off, grabbing the ignition key and immediately triggering a chase.
Thanks to the vigilance of law enforcement and the assistance of passersby, the fleeing man was caught and apprehended near the Millionaire housing complex. He is identified as G. Sèye, born in 1989 in Pikine, who presented himself as an upholsterer, according to Seneweb sources.
A search of the motorcycle led to the discovery, hidden in the seat, of a black bag containing 500 grams of marijuana. 7,000 CFA francs were also found in one of his pockets.
When questioned about the origin of the drugs, the suspect stated that he had acquired them from a supplier he met by chance on the two lanes of Liberté VI. He was taken into custody for the purposes of the investigation.
