Gamou : 20 accidents et 55 blessés recensés, 5 morts à Ndoumbélane (pompiers)
In a press release sent to Seneweb this Wednesday, September 3 at 10:45 a.m., the National Fire Brigade reported 20 traffic accidents that have occurred since the start of Gamou's security coverage in the holy cities of Tivaouane and Thiénaba.
A total of 55 injured people treated
The National Fire Brigade detachment, engaged to ensure security and medical coverage of the celebration of the birth of the Prophet Mohammed, recorded a total of 55 injured, all assisted by the rescue teams deployed on the ground.
Tragedy on the Ranérou road: 5 dead and 8 seriously injured
The most dramatic incident occurred this Wednesday, September 3, at around 6:15 a.m. on the Ranérou road, near the village of Ndoumbélane. A minibus carrying worshippers heading to Medina Baye for the Gamou collided head-on with a truck.
This terrible accident caused a heavy human toll with 20 victims in total: 5 people lost their lives and 8 others were seriously injured, requiring emergency medical treatment.
Condolences and support to the families
In his statement, Commander Yatma Dieye, Head of the Information and Public Relations Division of the National Fire Brigade, expressed the institution's compassion in the face of this tragedy.
"The BNSP bows before the memory of the deceased, offers its condolences to all the families and prays for the injured," said the official, emphasizing the emotion that accompanies this tragic toll.

Et ça recommence ! Après le "maggal" de Touba, place aux "gamou" de Tivaouane, Taïba Niasséne, Thiénaba et autres. Ce sont des évènements "religieux" dont la particularité est d'être accidentogènes et mortifères !
@NDEJE et aprés le magal touba et gamou tivaoune comme tu dis il yaura dautres accidents .
mieux vaut chercher les problmémes dans la prévention et la formation des chauffeurs au lieu de pointer du doigt les événements réligieux qui n'ont rien a voir avec les acccidents.
