Gamou 2025 : 120 interventions et 5 décès enregistrés, selon les sapeurs-pompiers
As part of the security and medical coverage of the Gamou celebrations in Tivaouane and Thiénaba, the national fire brigade drew up a worrying provisional report this Thursday, September 4, at 12:45 p.m. It reports 120 interventions of all kinds, allowing the treatment of 185 victims, including five people who lost their lives. Road traffic accidents represent the majority of interventions, with 42 cases recorded for 142 victims, including two deaths.
The most serious accident
The most significant tragedy occurred yesterday, Wednesday, September 3, at around 8:30 p.m., on National Road No. 2, near Lam Lam, towards Thiès. A moped was hit by a public transport bus of the "Ndiaga Ndiaye" type, causing the death of two people who were going to Tivaouane to participate in the Gamou, according to Commander Yatma Dièye, head of the Information and Public Relations Division of the National Fire Brigade.
