The National Gendarmerie organized, this Friday, September 12, 2025, a solemn ceremony for the presentation of the national flag to the SENFPU 3-4 and 2-6 contingents of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

The event was held at the parade ground in the Samba Diéry Diallo district of Colobane, under the chairmanship of Brigadier General Jean Bertrand Bocandé, Commander of the Mobile Gendarmerie, in the presence of civil and military authorities and the families of personnel, according to Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.

Commanded respectively by Lieutenant-Colonels Ansoumana Diédhiou and Ndongo Dièye, these contingents are composed of 360 officers and non-commissioned officers of the National Gendarmerie, including 64 women, thus representing a ratio of 17.77%.

The presentation of the national emblems marks the completion of their operational preparation, particularly the pre-deployment phase. During this period, the units underwent rigorous training in accordance with international norms and standards for United Nations peacekeeping operations.

The ceremony was also marked by the presentation of insignia and decorations in national orders to Army personnel distinguished for their commitment and bravery in the exercise of their duties.

Through this new contribution to UN operations, the Senegalese National Gendarmerie reaffirms its constant commitment to international peace and security, thus consolidating the tradition of excellence and discipline that characterizes the institution.
