Assemblée générale du Syndicat unique des Travailleurs du Trésor : Elhadji Dioumorou Dia réélu
At the close of this General Assembly, Mr. Elhadji Dioumorou Dia, Treasury Inspector and also Tax Collector of Bambey, was re-elected for a three-year term as head of the Unified Union of Treasury Workers, following a very close vote. The outgoing Secretary General received a total of 256 votes, ahead of his challenger Isaac Mingou, who obtained 250 votes, while Modou Bèye received 63 votes.
The election of the new board is the final step of this general assembly of the Unified Union of Treasury Workers (SUTT), which held its sixth Ordinary General Assembly (OGA) on Saturday, November 29, 2025. It began with the official opening ceremony, presided over by the Coordinator of the Directorate General of Public Accounting and the Treasury (DGCPT), representing the Director General, Amadou Tidiane GAYE.
Indeed, Mr. Amadou Oury BA was accompanied by Mr. Mohamadou Moctar DIOUF and Mr. Amath AW, respectively Technical Advisor to the Director General and Director of Administration and Personnel of the DGCPT. It should be noted that the presence of these officials underscores the importance of the relationship between the SUTT and the Directorate General, which is essential for promoting workers' rights in the sector.
Mr. Amadou Oury BA emphasized that the partnership between the Treasury Administration and the SUTT, during the outgoing term, was characterized by a frank, sincere, and demanding dialogue. "We have always remained in search of solutions in the best interests of our joint institution."
Together, we have navigated demanding periods and significant changes. I am thinking, for example, of the digitization of procedures and other challenges we have met. I want to acknowledge your strong sense of responsibility, which you have demonstrated in every respect. This underscores how invaluable your expertise has been, stated the representative of the Director General.
This 6th Ordinary General Assembly of the SUTT, it should be remembered, was also combined with an ordinary conclave of the Union of Trade Unions of Public Treasury Workers of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (USTTP/UEMOA), thus strengthening collaboration between trade unions within the region.
Dioumorou DIA's re-election reflects the confidence that workers place in his leadership and commitment to defending the interests of Treasury workers.
Following the victory and the re-election of Elhadji Dioumorou Dia, the SUTT (Union of Treasury Workers) is embarking on new challenges while strengthening its efforts to improve the working conditions of Treasury employees. The discussions held during this general assembly have provided a solid foundation for future actions in support of Treasury employees.
