Fille tombée du 3e étage à la cité Mixta : L’enquête révèle une tentative de suicide après une rupture amoureuse
Seneweb has a little more information on the initial findings of the investigation by the Parcelles Assainies district police station into the fall of a girl from the third floor of a building in the Mixta estate on the night of Saturday, September 20, 2025. According to our information, it was indeed a suicide attempt, confirmed by the victim herself and her partner. Around 1 a.m., a security guard alerted the police after noticing a girl fall. At the scene, the men of Commissioner Abdou Sarr, accompanied by firefighters, discovered the victim on the ground, conscious but suffering from severe pain. She identified herself as Astou D., 21 years old, unemployed and living in the Mixta estate. "I couldn't stand this breakup."
In front of the investigators, Astou explained that she had just had an argument with her boyfriend, who had decided to break off their relationship. "Unable to bear this breakup, I jumped from the third floor," she confided during her summary interrogation.
The testimony of his relatives
Two of the victim's relatives, her cousin MN and her neighbor LG, told the police that they had gone out to get food, leaving Astou alone in her room. Upon their return, they heard "a deafening noise" caused by her fall, before alerting the housing project's security guards.
The boyfriend's version
Reached by phone by investigators, Mouhamed M., the victim's boyfriend, confirmed the argument. He said he learned from a friend of Astou's that she had allegedly "marabouted" him. When he called her to discuss it, tensions rose and he decided to end their relationship, according to Seneweb sources close to the case. "She suddenly interrupted the conversation, before people called me to inform me of her suicide attempt," he told police.
The firefighters quickly evacuated the victim to the Idrissa Pouye General Hospital in Grand-Yoff, where she is receiving medical treatment. The investigation is continuing at the Parcelles Assainies police station in order to clarify all the details of this case.
