"Goudi Cheikhna Cheikh Talibouya" : Le sermon du khalife général Cheikhna Cheikh Nahma Aïdara
The Khadre brotherhood celebrated the 37th edition of the Night of Cheikhna Cheikh Nahma Aïdara, commonly called "Goudi Cheikhna Cheikh Talibouya", from February 5 to 8, 2026 in the Diamaguène Nimzat district of Thiès.
This religious event saw a large turnout of followers, as well as the presence of administrative and local authorities.
The official ceremony took place on Saturday, February 7, 2026. On this occasion, the Caliph General of the Qadiriyya Sufi order, Sheikh Nahma Aïdara, focused his sermon on a return to Islamic values and respect for the pillars of Islam. He urged the faithful, and more broadly, all Senegalese, to re-examine their behavior and reflect on the finite nature of life.
"Let us review our behavior. We will all leave this world and each of us will be rewarded according to our actions," he said, before offering prayers for peace and stability in Senegal.
The Senegalese government was represented by a delegation led by the deputy governor of Thiès, Ababacar Sadikh Niang. In his address, the administrative authority expressed his satisfaction with the success of this Gamou, which he attributed to the combined efforts of the organizing committee, state services, and the local authorities of Thiès.
"All state and local government services in Thiès were mobilized for the success of this gamou. All concerns raised during the CRD were taken into account, which explains the success of the organization," he stressed.
Ababacar Sadikh Niang also emphasized the essential role of religious authorities in education and the preservation of the values that underpin Senegalese society. He reaffirmed the State's commitment to supporting religious leaders in their missions, particularly in the fight against the crisis of values.
Finally, the deputy governor requested prayers for the success of state projects, particularly in the Thiès region.
