Gouloumbou : Un apprenti chauffeur se noie en tentant de se rafraîchir

The incident occurred the day before yesterday, around 1 p.m. In sweltering heat exceeding 40°C, the young man went to the riverbank to cool off. Attempting a dive to escape the scorching sun, Ibrahima Cissé, who clearly lacked swimming skills, was quickly overwhelmed by the water.

Alerted by eyewitnesses, local residents quickly gathered around the river. Members of the gendarmerie brigade and firefighters were dispatched to the scene. After an intense search, the firefighters recovered the young man's body.

After the usual procedures, the body was taken to the morgue at the Tambacounda Regional Hospital. An investigation has been opened by the gendarmerie to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
