Grand Mbao sous la menace de la mer : Ndiawar Sow lance un appel à la solidarité nationale
In Grand Mbao, a silent drama has been unfolding for several weeks. The relentless advance of the sea is eating away at the land, collapsing houses, and engulfing places of worship. Two mosques have already disappeared beneath the waves, and nearly a hundred homes are now directly threatened. The roar of the waves, once distant, now resounds like a constant alarm for local residents.
Faced with this alarming situation, Ndiawar Sow, President of the PDP National Movement – Peace, Development and Prosperity, and declared candidate for mayor of Mbao, reacted.
This morning, a delegation from his movement arrived at the scene to assess the extent of the damage and listen to the affected families.
"What we have seen is heartbreaking: families deprived of their place of worship, their roof over their heads, and sometimes their most cherished memories," he said emotionally.
An urgent and determined mobilization
Deeply moved by the residents' testimonies, Ndiawar Sow announced the launch of a vast wave of solidarity in support of the families affected by this disaster. He also pledged to bring the voice of Grand Mbao to the relevant authorities.
"Our action will not be limited to immediate assistance: I undertake to immediately contact the competent authorities so that they can take strong and urgent measures to stop this catastrophe before it becomes irreversible," he promised.
Saving more than walls: preserving a collective memory
For Ndiawar Sow, it is not just about rebuilding homes, but about preserving a community, a heritage and a hope deeply rooted in the history of Mbao.
"In Grand Mbao, every tide is a test. However, I firmly believe that solidarity, when united and determined, can be even more powerful than the force of the waves," he stressed, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement.
In a solemn appeal, he invites citizens, partners, and institutions to join forces to save what can still be saved. "Because it's not just about protecting walls: it's about preserving a community, a heritage, and a hope that carry a whole history within them."
