Grand-Yoff : Des discussions pour sensibiliser sur les opérations de déguerpissement prévues le 20 novembre
The mayor of Grand-Yoff, Madiop Diop, held a meeting this Tuesday, October 7, to inform and raise awareness among the population about clearing clutter and the illegal or anarchic occupation of public roads.
"It is our responsibility to clear all the roads that are blocking public roads for the sake of public peace and quiet. We want to begin clearing operations from November 20," declared the Grand-Yoff mayor.
Madia Diop assured the population that strict monitoring will be carried out to ensure the roads are cleared. “Decongestion operations began in 2014, but there was still a lack of follow-up. This time, we will do our best to have the necessary equipment to carry out the follow-up (have agents on the ground).”
For the mayor, dialogue is the best way to reach out to people and work with them. “Street vendors and shopkeepers are our collaborators. That's why we invited them all to discuss this eviction operation together.”
He also considered setting up rotating fairs of 7 to 10 days in the spaces, while waiting to find sustainable solutions.
The mayor concluded his statement with an appeal to the State regarding the DESCOS's suspension of construction work. "All our construction sites have been suspended by DESCOS, which is not normal. (The State) must take responsibility for supporting local authorities and helping them do the job properly."

Il y aura-t-il pas de déguisement à Ouest Foire le long du mur de l'aéroport, au rond point Yoff et en face de la fédération (de la passerelle de la Foire à la pharmacie)?
