Grand-Yoff : Trois malfaiteurs arrêtés par la police après l'agression d'un gendarme
Three individuals were arrested on Friday, December 19, 2025, in the Khar Yalla neighborhood for assaulting and robbing an auxiliary gendarme serving with the Gendarmerie Intervention Legion (LGI) in Mbao. The suspects were brought before the Dakar Public Prosecutor's Office.
Auxiliary gendarme OS, stationed at the Mbao Gendarmerie Brigade, went to the Grand-Yoff district police station on December 19 to report an assault. According to his statement, he was attacked by a group of young people near the Khar Yalla field while pushing his broken-down motorcycle.
Despite his resistance, the attackers managed to seize his two mobile phones, an OPPO and a REDMI.
Three suspects arrested after a forceful raid
Alerted immediately, a team from the police station conducted a discreet raid on the scene of the attack, accompanied by the victim. Part of the gang was located and, thanks to information provided by the gendarme, three suspects were apprehended after fierce resistance marked by the throwing of stones and sticks, according to Seneweb sources.
The individuals arrested are:
AB, 23 years old, mechanic residing in Grand-Yoff, AS, 22 years old, mechanic residing in Khar Yalla and TM, 24 years old, tailor residing in Khar Yalla.
After being questioned briefly, the three suspects admitted to the crimes while attempting to negotiate their release in exchange for the unconditional return of the stolen phones. However, they denied resisting arrest.
The investigation also revealed that TM was actively being sought as part of a large-scale Indian hemp trafficking network in Khar Yalla.
His accomplices in this case were brought before the Public Prosecutor's Office at the beginning of 2025.
The three suspects were taken into custody for conspiracy, armed robbery committed at night, and resisting arrest. Following the investigation, they were brought before the Dakar prosecutor's office where they will face charges.
