Grand-Yoff : Une patrouille de police surprend des cambrioleurs en pleine action, deux individus arrêtés
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., a patrol from the Grand-Yoff district police station's criminal investigation unit, as part of its anti-crime efforts, surprised a group of three individuals breaking down the door of a hair salon and wig shop located in the Grand-Yoff housing project, near the Hyacinthe Thiandoum middle school. The perpetrators had already managed to break the first padlocks by the time the police arrived.
Upon seeing them, the criminals fled, triggering a chase. Two of them were quickly apprehended, while the third managed to escape.
The two suspects apprehended are identified as ND Mbaye, a 32-year-old merchant residing in Medina, and M. Fall, a 22-year-old merchant residing in Liberté 6.
When questioned, they admitted to planning to burglarize the salon, according to Seneweb sources. Taken to the scene, officers from the brigade discovered a crowbar they intended to use to break down the salon doors.
When questioned about the identity of the third individual, the suspects awkwardly stated that they were just together for the occasion, without providing any further details.
The crowbar was confiscated for the purposes of the investigation. The two suspects were taken into custody after the prosecutor was notified. The investigation continues to identify and apprehend the third accomplice.
