Groupe Sonatel : 113 milliards de bénéfice en trois mois
The Sonatel group is clearly unaffected by the economic difficulties facing Senegal and Mali (for different reasons), two countries where it has a significant presence. Indeed, in the first quarter of 2026 alone, Sonatel-Orange generated revenue of 504.2 billion (+6.9%) and profits of 113.8 billion, representing a 22.6% increase compared to the first quarter of 2025. These figures were published on the company's website, which, despite these results, complains of an "environment marked by increased competition and persistent regulatory constraints."
This growth is primarily driven by "Data, Orange Money and fixed Internet offers". Orange reports growth across all segments (4G, Orange Money, fiber), with the exception of the mobile subscriber base, which saw a 2.9% decline due to "stricter customer identification rules".
In 2025, the Sonatel Group reported consolidated revenue of 1,923.1 billion FCFA and net income of 413.5 billion FCFA. The multinational operates in five countries: Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, and Sierra Leone.
