Guédiawaye : deux morts rejetés par la mer, panique générale
The lifeless bodies of two students were washed ashore at Gadaye Beach, Wakhinane Nimzatt (Guédiawaye), last week. The victims have been identified as Cheikh S., 16, and Alassane B., 13; two boys who lived in Yeumbeul, according to Les Échos, which reported the news.
The sudden appearance of the two bodies caused panic among the swimmers. The first was washed up by the waves as the water teemed with people. Screams rang out and several curious onlookers rushed towards the body.
"While the crowd gathers around the body freshly washed ashore and speculates, the deep blue sea throws up the other body," the newspaper reports. "The young people who were there run away like rabbits. The beach quickly empties."
Officers from the Wakhinane Nimazatt police station were alerted and arrived on the scene and carried out the usual investigations. According to Les Echos, the two youths were shirtless, wearing only gray and blue shorts. Their bodies were sent to the Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand-Yoff for autopsy, the newspaper added.
