«Il a mis sa main dans mon sexe» : le marabout, la cliente, les djins et le paiement «en nature»
Who should I believe, K. Diop or Mr. Kébé? To treat chronic headaches, the former had gone to see the latter, who describes himself as a marabout star on TikTok. "After the consultation," he rewinds, "I gave her mystical baths. When it came time to pay the bills, she informed me she had no money. She offered to pay in kind."
Mr. Kébé swears he rejected the offer of payment. Feeling offended, he continues, the woman allegedly vowed revenge by tarnishing his image, particularly on social media. "She carried out her threats. I was arrested the day after the incident."
Mr. Kébé thus delivered his version of events before the Dakar Criminal Court, where he was being tried last Tuesday for rape and charlatanism. But his account runs counter to that of K. Diop, who was presented at the preliminary investigation.
"I came to treat my headaches. But as soon as he saw me, he told me that I was possessed by djinns, and that I had to get rid of them before they killed me," the complainant claims in her complaint, to which she attached a medical certificate attesting to recent hymenal lesions.
L'Observateur, which attended the trial, reports that K. Diop claims that Mr. Kébé abused her after "hypnotizing her with incantations." "He put his hand in my genitals because, according to him, he had to make a liquid come out," the complainant explained.
Considering the accused guilty, the prosecutor requested a ten-year prison sentence. "The medical certificate alone cannot prove the accused's guilt. He must be acquitted outright," the defense attorney argued. Deliberation: April 15.
