Il voulait reconquérir son ex… son fils en paye le prix : Le tribunal de Mbour dénoue le drame familial

What was supposed to be a simple altercation between a father and son turned into an explosive legal saga. D. Sarr, 20, was appearing in court for assaulting his father, P. B. Sarr, a taxi driver. But the hearing quickly took an unexpected turn.

According to the father, it all started with an ignored call. "He came to say hello, and when he walked away, I called him; he didn't answer. When I pointed it out, he started yelling," recounts the father, who claims he slapped him back before being beaten by his son. One blow hit him in the eye, and when he went to the pharmacy, he was advised to see an ophthalmologist. To further incriminate his son, he included photos showing a black eye in his file.

However, the narrative took a dramatic turn with the testimony of the plaintiff's cousin. "He wanted the boy's mother to remarry him, but my niece is already married. He even asked his son to intercede on her behalf. The boy couldn't, so his anger turned against him. Since he couldn't get the woman back, he took it out on his son. I swear he never laid a hand on his father. I was in my room watching them through the window," he declared, his voice trembling in the courtroom.

The witness also emphasized that D. Sarr has a deep love and respect for his father, which is why he stayed by his side after his mother left. He also told the court that PB Sarr had been with three women, all of whom had left him.

Furious, PB Sarr shouted: "You don't love me! You're not family! Every time I get married, you separate me from my wife!", triggering an uproar and calls for order from the court.

After examining the contradictions, emotional tensions, and impossible demands placed on a teenager, the court concluded that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate the alleged assault. The court then acquitted the defendant, much to the relief of his family.
