Dette dite cachée : le FRAPP réclame l’application de la doctrine de la dette odieuse
The Front for a Popular and Pan-African Anti-Imperialist Revolution (FRAPP) welcomed the Prime Minister's statement on public debt, made in the National Assembly. Estimated at 7,666 billion CFA francs, this "so-called hidden debt" is described as "odious" by the movement, which believes it was contracted in violation of existing regulations.
FRAPP calls for an audit covering the period 2012-2024, recalling that the outstanding debt has increased from 39% of GDP in 2012 to 119% in 2024. It invites the State to rely on the doctrine of odious debt and to examine the commitments contracted after the relief initiatives such as the HIPC Initiative and the Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative.
