Horreur à Grand-Yoff : séquestré et torturé par des trafiquants, un artiste sauvé de l'exécution
It was a scene of terror that the gendarmes of the Grand Yoff Research Brigade discovered this Tuesday when they raided the hideout of a trafficking network. B. Kâne, a 30-year-old artist, was "snatched from the hands of his tormentors" while, according to his own statements reported by L'Observateur, he was about to be "liquidated."
Abducted from his home, the man in his thirties was held captive in a dilapidated building used as a hideout by drug traffickers, the newspaper reports. The account of his ordeal is chilling: bound hand and foot with a ten-meter rope, tortured with sticks and knives, he endured a brutal interrogation under threat of death by his alleged accomplices.
The same source indicates that this barbaric act stemmed from an internal settling of scores related to drug trafficking. The ringleader, nicknamed "Niass," and his accomplices accuse B. Kâne of having stolen a significant quantity of marijuana hidden in their hideout. Initially, the suspects tried to downplay the events before investigators, claiming it was simply a debt of 300,000 FCFA, but the evidence ultimately forced them to confess.
The swift intervention of law enforcement led to the dismantling of this criminal group, which appeared to have local support. During the search, more than three kilograms of cannabis, numerous bladed weapons, and torture equipment were seized.
In total, eight individuals, aged 17 to 59 – mechanics, bricklayers, carpenters, and even a graphic designer – were taken into custody. They are being prosecuted for conspiracy, drug trafficking, kidnapping, attempted murder, and possession of bladed weapons, according to the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias.
