«Infiltrer, arrêter et transférer» : le film de l’arrestation de Hamidou Djiba
Hamidou Djiba, spokesperson for the MFDC Mangoucourou section, is being held at the Colobane Research Section (SR). He was arrested in Ziguinchor and transferred to Dakar by the regional branch of this gendarmerie unit. He is accused of making hostile remarks against the Republic and its authorities.
The Ziguinchor Research Section had received a clear order: to infiltrate the target's universe and proceed to arrest him upon his transfer to the capital.
The mission was accomplished without a hitch. It began on the ground on Tuesday, August 19. "An SR commando discreetly infiltrated the Djibock neighborhood where Djiba resides. The reconnaissance phase confirmed the man's imminent move outside the commune," reports L'Observateur, which replayed the film of the arrest of one of the MFDC's voices in its Monday edition.
This move forces the gendarmes to change their initial plan, but it is good news: far from their stronghold, the terrain is less hostile, investigators say, according to the newspaper of the Future Media Group.
Late Wednesday afternoon, the 20th, the daily newspaper continued, "Djiba got on his motorcycle and took to the road. In the shadows, a commando of about six men followed him closely, without ever revealing themselves. The ambush closed in near the village of Boulome, near the Guinea-Bissau border. Forced to immobilize his vehicle, the man was calmly asked to surrender. Surrounded, he offered no resistance."
The men of the Ziguinchor SR will deliver "the package" to their colleagues in Dakar during the night of Wednesday to Thursday. But beforehand, reports L'Observateur, "it was loaded onto an unmarked vehicle, headed for the premises of the Ziguinchor SR."
Djiba was then taken to his home for a search which revealed "several compromising objects and documents," the newspaper said, without giving further details on the exact nature of the seizure.
