Inondations et crue du fleuve au Fouta : Cheikh Tidiane Dieye salue les infrastructures réalisées

The Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Cheikh Tidiane Dieye, continues his tour of Fouta to assess the progress of work undertaken as part of the fight against flooding.

In Thilogne, several strategic sites were visited, including the dike currently being built on the banks of the Senegal River, as well as the Thilogne Haleile and Thilogne Tokossel ravines. These structures aim to strengthen the resilience of populations in the face of flooding and the effects of heavy rains recorded in the region.

This work is part of a dynamic of co-construction between the Ministry of Hydraulics and Sanitation and the Ministry of the Armed Forces, through Military Engineering. It focuses in particular on:

the construction of hydraulic and sanitation infrastructure,

the construction of flood prevention and management works,

and emergency interventions to protect threatened populations.

Beyond the simple execution of projects, this mission illustrates the new approach initiated by the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. This aims to:

‎move from a logic of expenditure to a logic of results and concrete impact on the lives of citizens,

strengthen the synergy between State structures to act more effectively,

listen and respond to the pressing concerns of populations with sustainable solutions, adapted to local realities.

Cheikh Tidiane Dieye stressed the importance of favoring anticipatory strategies:

"We must prioritize anticipatory solutions and transform water into a real source of wealth creation, rather than a factor in natural disasters," he said.

Through this approach, the minister underlines the government's desire to combine proximity, active listening and responsiveness in order to provide concrete and immediate responses to the needs of Senegalese women and men.

Il est juste limité et incompétent C’est facile d’être dans l’opposition de critiquer de se faire passer pour un expert. Seulement c’est au pied du mur qu’on reconnaît les véritables maçons Ce régime a trompé tout un peuple
