Transmission volontaire du VIH/sida : Panique chez les proches d’homos testés séropositifs
Since the dismantling of a vast network of homosexuals involved in the voluntary transmission of HIV to their partners, there is panic among citizens and relatives of homosexuals involved in this sordid story.
Feeling more exposed to the risk of infection, some got tested to confirm their serological status. For personal reasons, many preferred to keep their diagnosis private, while others, to dispel any doubt, shared their negative test results.
However, many Senegalese have since been inquiring about the modes of transmission of the disease. They are quick to criticize the choices of these HIV-positive individuals who, aware of their status, deliberately chose to frequent hair salons and beauty parlors, and share objects with those around them.
It is also essential to remember that HIV/AIDS is transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse; from mother to child (pregnant woman); through the sharing of sharp objects (syringes, razor blades, needles…), or through exposure to contaminated blood.
