Trafic international de drogue : deux dealers arrêtés par la gendarmerie de Nioro avec plus de 4 kg
As part of the fight against the resurgence of illicit drug trafficking, the Nioro Territorial Brigade made a major seizure this Thursday, January 8, 2026. More than 4 kg of Indian hemp were seized and two people were arrested, according to Seneweb sources.
The operation followed the exploitation of reliable intelligence regarding international drug trafficking transiting through the Gambian border. This information allowed the gendarmerie to focus their investigations on the Paoskoto area.
On Thursday, January 8, 2026, around 6 p.m., Chief Warrant Officer Souleymane Thior, commander of the Nioro Territorial Brigade, and his men carried out an operation in the village of Dinguiraye, located in the commune of Paoskoto.
During the operation, police seized over 4 kg of cannabis. Two Senegalese nationals, aged 30 and 59 respectively, were arrested at the scene. They were immediately taken into custody for questioning.
At the conclusion of the investigation conducted by the Nioro Territorial Brigade, the two suspects will be brought before the High Court of Kaolack to answer for their acts of international drug trafficking.
